Livia Olah is an Associate Professor and Senior Lecturer at the Department of Sociology, Stockholm University, affiliated with the Stockholm University Demographic Department (SUDA). Her research focuses on demography, gender equality, family dynamics, and policy impacts on fertility across Sweden and post-socialist contexts.
Research Interests: Demography, gender roles, family diversity, fertility trends, work-life balance, pronatalist policies, and cross-cultural comparisons between Sweden, Hungary, and Poland. She examines how economic uncertainty, policy interventions, and societal norms shape reproductive intentions and family structures.
Article Trends: Recent work spans demographic discourses in EU institutions, vulnerability in non-cohabiting relationships, Polish migrant fertility patterns, and pronatalism in post-socialist Europe. Earlier studies analyze gendered policy impacts on third births in Hungary and pandemic-era educational recovery.
