Wooseong Kim is a Postdoctoral Researcher at Karolinska Institute and an affiliated researcher at the Stockholm University Demography Unit (SUDA), Department of Sociology. He holds a PhD in Sociological Demography from Stockholm University, where his thesis focused on overqualification effects among second-generation immigrants in Sweden.

Research Interests center on immigrant socioeconomic integration, social determinants of health, nonstandard employment, in-work poverty, and advanced quantitative methods. Using Swedish register data, he explores intersections between labor market disadvantages and health outcomes, emphasizing mental health disparities by immigrant background.
His latest publications (2024-2025) include studies on:

At Stockholm University, he teaches Basic Demographic Methods (7.5 ECTS) in the multidisciplinary Master's program (2020-2024). He collaborates extensively with SUDA researchers on population dynamics and has co-authored working papers in the Stockholm Research Reports in Demography series.
