Lisa King is the Head of Practice Education and Simulated Learning Division at the University of Chester's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Society. She holds a Senior Lecturer academic rank and is a registered mental health nurse (NMC) and Royal College of Nursing member. She leads strategic initiatives in practice education and simulated learning, collaborating with professional bodies and external stakeholders. Her roles include academic leadership, curriculum development, and fostering innovation in nursing education.
Education qualifications include a Master of Professional Studies, MEd in Professional Education, and Postgraduate Diplomas in Leadership in Higher Education and Adult Education. Certifications include IOSH Managing Safely.
Research focuses on mental health, public health, nurse education equity, and substance misuse impacts. Current projects include QR-funded studies on BAME nursing students' discrimination and faculty staff wellbeing. Teaching spans leadership, public health, and drug/alcohol education across undergraduate/postgraduate levels.
She actively supervises dissertation students and contributes to policy development in forensic psychiatric nursing. Awards include Senior Fellowship from Advance HE.
