Lisa Marie Sharp is a Senior Lecturer Practitioner (Placement Expansion) at Anglia Ruskin University's Faculty of Health, Medicine and Social Care, specializing in Nursing and Midwifery. With a triple national award-winning background, she brings extensive clinical experience from emergency nursing in acute and private sectors, corporate nursing, and project management to her academic role.
Her research interests focus on Simulated Practice Learning (SPL), patient mobilization through initiatives like #endPJparalysis, nursing revalidation systems, and leadership development. She has been actively engaged in SPL since 2021 as part of ARU's pandemic response and is researching this area as part of her Professional Doctorate program.
Sharp has made significant contributions to nursing education through her work on simulated practice learning, with her team receiving multiple awards including the Dean Annual Award 2023 and being finalists for Student Nursing Times Awards and Times Higher Education Awards. Her #endPJparalysis initiative, which gamified patient mobilization, began at North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust and expanded regionally, nationally, and globally, impacting over 91,000 patients.

Her teaching integrates her extensive clinical background with innovative approaches to nursing education, particularly in simulation-based learning.
Sharp maintains active professional engagement through her blog, where she explores themes of wisdom in leadership, nursing values, and professional development, contributing to broader conversations in healthcare education and practice.
