Dr Lisa Davison is a Quantitative Research Fellow at the University of Stirling working within Housing Studies. She is currently engaged with the Intersectional Stigma for Place-based Ageing (ISPA) project, a 5-year UKRI-funded research initiative exploring how stigma attached to residential locations intersects with experiences of disability and ageing.
Dr Davison holds both MSc and PhD degrees in Gerontology from the University of Southampton. Her educational background has provided the foundation for her specialized work in ageing research using large-scale datasets.
Her research focuses on analyzing UK and European secondary data sources to understand the complex relationships between place, stigma, disability, and ageing. Dr Davison has developed significant expertise in working with major longitudinal studies including the English Longitudinal Study of Ageing (ELSA), Survey of Health Ageing and Retirement Europe (SHARE), Understanding Society (UKHLS), and various national census and household surveys. Her methodological approach emphasizes quantitative analysis of population-level data to identify patterns and relationships that inform policy and practice in ageing societies.
Dr Davison's current work on the ISPA project represents a significant contribution to understanding how residential environments affect the ageing experience, particularly for those with disabilities. Her research combines housing studies with gerontology to address important social questions about inequality and wellbeing in later life.
