Professor Vikki McCall serves as Professor of Social Policy in the Faculty of Social Sciences at the University of Stirling, where she teaches the Postgraduate MSc/Diploma of Housing Studies. She holds significant leadership roles including Honorary Secretary for the Social Policy Association Executive Committee and Editorial Board member of Social Policy & Society.
Her research focuses on housing, ageing society, stigma, and co-production with community members. Professor McCall employs innovative mixed-method approaches combining quantitative analyses with qualitative ethnographic data and co-production with disabled community peer-reviewers. She examines how environmental modifications and inclusive approaches can support people to age well within homes and communities while addressing intersectional stigma.

- Principal Investigator on the Inclusive Living support for older people in residential care (INVITE) project funded by the Longleigh Foundation (2020-2023)
- Co-Investigator on the UKRI-funded Designing homes for healthy cognitive ageing: co-production for impact and scale (DesHCA) project (2020-2024)
Professor McCall has received numerous teaching accolades including multiple RATE awards for excellence in teaching (2016, 2019, 2023) and was nominated for Inspirational Women Award 2023. Her scholarly contributions were recognized with the Sociological Review Prize for Outstanding Scholarship 2017 for her paper on class, stigma and urban restructuring.
She actively contributes to policy development through leadership positions including Director of the Scottish Federation of Housing Associations, Steering Group Member of the Housing and Dementia Forum, and Board member of the TAPPI 2 Steering Group. Professor McCall has presented her research internationally at numerous conferences and has been invited to speak at institutions including University of Lund and Beijing University of Technology.
