Lisa Beznosiuk

Lisa Beznosiuk is a Professor of Historical Flutes at the Royal Academy of Music, specializing in early flutes and period instrument performance. She is Principal Flute of the English Concert and the Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, renowned for her expertise in 18th- and 19th-century repertoire. Her performances and recordings span works by Bach, Handel, Vivaldi, Mozart, and composers like Berlioz, Wagner, and Tchaikovsky on historical flutes from her personal collection.

Her research and artistic practice focus on adapting baroque techniques to modern instruments and exploring the challenges of presenting 19th-century music on period instruments for contemporary audiences. As an internationally recognized teacher, she mentors flute students, many of whom have become prominent flautists. She balances her academic role with active participation in pioneering performances and recordings of lesser-explored historical repertoire.
