Dr Liku Tezera is a Senior Research Fellow at the University of Southampton, holding qualifications of BM, MSc, PhD, and FHEA. His research focuses on tuberculosis (TB) mechanisms and regenerative medicine, with affiliations to the Institute for Life Sciences, Centre for Human Development, Stem Cells and Regeneration, and Innate Immunity groups.
Research Projects:
- Active: Investigating Mechanotransduction in TB and local outcome determinants (funded by MRC).
- Completed: Imaging TB in microspheres and 3D cellular model development (funded by Wessex Medical Research).
Expertise: Combines stem cell technology, bioelectrospray, and immunology to model TB pathogenesis and identify therapeutic targets. His work spans mechanobiology, host-pathogen interactions, and translational medicine.
