Li Jin is a Professor in the Department of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Virginia (UVA) School of Medicine. Her research focuses on the intersection of tumor immunology and spinal diseases, particularly investigating the role of immune cells in disc degeneration and herniation. Collaborating with Dr. Joshua Li, she develops innovative therapies such as the Disc-on-a-chip platform, Pain Patch, and nanoparticle-based treatments for back and leg pain. Her work also extends to osteoarthritis and inflammation, aiming to identify biomarkers and disease-modifying therapies.
- PhD in Tumor Immunology (China)
- Postdoctoral Training: University of Virginia
- Current Appointment: Professor, Molecular Physiology and Biological Physics
The Jin-Li Lab is dedicated to advancing spinal health through interdisciplinary approaches, combining biomedical engineering, molecular physiology, and nanotechnology. The lab’s projects target local disc herniation sites with anti-inflammatory therapies and explore novel diagnostic tools.
