Levente Horvath

Levente Horvath is an NIHR Pre-Doctoral Research Fellow at King’s College London, based in the Department of Biostatistics & Health Informatics within the School of Mental Health & Psychological Sciences. He is affiliated with the Institute of Psychiatry, Psychology & Neuroscience (IoPPN), specifically the Psychometrics & Measurement Group and the Life Course Epidemiology Group. His work focuses on developing valid psychometric tools for mental health conditions, particularly misophonia in children and adolescents, alongside advancing methodologies in statistical modelling and health informatics.

• Education: BSc Psychology (Hons) with Professional Placement Year from King’s College London; currently pursuing an MSc in Advanced Statistical Modelling and Health Informatics.

Research interests include misophonia, neurodevelopmental disorders, longitudinal and cohort studies, and the creation of standardized assessment scales. His multidisciplinary approach integrates psychometrics, mathematical psychology, and social statistics to address life-course perspectives in mental health research.

He has been awarded the NIHR Pre-Doctoral Fellowship, which supports his ongoing research and academic development. His project, supervised by Dr Silia Vitoratou, aims to improve diagnostic measurement tools and understanding of misophonia in younger populations. Collaborations within the IoPPN’s Psychometrics & Measurement Lab emphasize methodological innovation in psychological measurement and health technology applications.
