Leslie Kerr is a Professor in the Department of Biology at Trent University. She holds offices in LHS D242 and a lab in LHS D207. Her research focuses on behavioral neuroscience, particularly how early environmental stressors influence developmental physiology and cellular mechanisms. She teaches advanced undergraduate courses including BIOL 4840H: Neuroendocrinology and PSYC-BIOL 3210H: Principles of the nervous system, alongside BIOM 1000H: Introduction to Biomedical Sciences.
Her research interests span environmental stressors' impact on development, developmental plasticity, and their implications for health outcomes. Key areas include the physiological responses to predation risk in anurans, hormonal regulation in cancer models, and the effects of chemotherapy on cognitive function in mice.
Leslie Kerr has contributed to over 30 peer-reviewed publications since 2001, addressing topics ranging from molecular mechanisms of gene regulation to behavioral oncology. Her work bridges behavioral, developmental, and endocrine systems biology.
