Leon Zimmermann is a Research Assistant at the University of Tübingen's Institute of Modern History since October 2022, and a Doctoral Researcher at the same institution since August 2022. He specializes in 18th-19th century economic history, British imperial history, and agrarian/social history.
Education:
- B.A. in History and Anglistics (2016-2020)
- M.A. in History (2020-2022), with thesis focusing on transnational finance and social mobility
His research explores interconnected themes of economic development, consumer culture, and agrarian transformations in early modern Europe. Current work examines Fleiß, Konsum, and Lebensstandard in 18th-century Britain and Germany.
Publications include a 2022 contribution to the Literaturwissenschaftliches Verfasserlexikon analyzing Volquard Iversen's networks. He teaches tutorials on historical methodologies and economic history.
