Dr. Lee Nelson is a Professor of Music and holds the Patricia R. Zahn Chair in Choral Conducting at Wartburg College in Waverly, Iowa. He serves as Director of Choral Activities, conducting the Wartburg Choir and Ritterchor (tenor/bass choir) while teaching courses in choral literature and conducting. His work has been recognized nationally, including The American Prize for College/University Choirs and Wartburg College’s Chellevold Award for Teaching Excellence.

- Conducted performances at Carnegie Hall, the White House, and Washington National Cathedral
- Directed choirs in 12 countries over 12 years
His research focuses on choral conducting pedagogy, contemporary choral composition, and global music education. He has received accolades for innovative programming, including international tours culminating in television productions like The Wartburg Choir in Germany: Celebrating 500 years of Reformation.
