Dr. Leanne Fleming is an Honorary Senior Research Fellow at the School of Health & Wellbeing, University of Glasgow, affiliated with the Glasgow Sleep Centre at the Sackler Institute, Southern General Hospital. Her research focuses on sleep disorders, particularly insomnia in clinical populations such as cancer patients. She specializes in cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) interventions, clinical screening tools like the Sleep Condition Indicator (SCI), and improving adherence to medical therapies through symptom cluster analysis.
Her work bridges sleep medicine, psychology, and oncology, addressing interdisciplinary challenges in patient care. Key contributions include studies on insomnia’s psychopathological impacts, qualitative analyses of cancer survivors’ sleep experiences, and the development of evidence-based screening and treatment protocols.
Fleming collaborates on projects evaluating insomnia’s role in comorbid conditions, using both quantitative (randomized trials) and qualitative methods. Her research emphasizes practical clinical applications, aiming to enhance patient outcomes through better diagnostic and therapeutic approaches.
