Dr. Laurie Patterson is a Senior Lecturer in Sport and Exercise Psychology at Leeds Beckett University's Carnegie School of Sport. She is recognized as a global leader in clean sport research, with a focus on anti-doping policies, behavioral science applications, and athlete support systems.
Laurie earned her undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in Sport and Exercise Science at Leeds Beckett University. After completing her Master’s in 2011, she secured a studentship from the Carnegie School of Sport to pursue her PhD, which she completed in 2014. Her academic career has been embedded within the same institution, where she transitioned from research roles to teaching and leadership positions.

Her work is supported by grants from the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA), International Olympic Committee (IOC), ERASMUS+, and sports organizations like the Rugby Football League and the Football Association.
