Debbie Smith

Dr. Debbie Smith is a Senior Lecturer at the Carnegie School of Sport, Leeds Beckett University, specializing in Sport and Exercise Nutrition. She is registered with the Sport and Exercise Nutrition Register (SENR) and leads undergraduate and postgraduate modules including Nutrition and Biochemistry, Professional Practice in Sport and Exercise Nutrition, and Applied Practice Programme.

• Consultant nutritionist for Leeds Rhinos, Yorkshire Carnegie, TASS athletes
• National Trainer for UK Anti-Doping education team

Her research focuses on the appropriateness of sports nutrition guidelines, barriers to implementation, and supplement use. She collaborates with professional sports teams (Chelsea, Leeds United, Huddersfield Town) and co-leads the PROSPER: Safer Supplement Use Project. Debbie supervises MSc and MRes students in partnership with local sports organizations.
