Ailish King is a University Teacher in Psychology at Loughborough University, affiliated with the National Centre for Sport and Exercise Medicine (NCSEM). She holds a BSc in Psychology from the University of Leeds (2014) and an MSc in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University (2019). Her research focuses on irrational beliefs and dysfunctional behaviors in sport, anti-doping policies, and lifestyle interventions for health and wellbeing.
Previously, she worked in forensic psychology (2014–2017) and as a Research Associate at the University of Birmingham (2017–2018), collaborating with the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) and International Olympic Committee (IOC). She is currently pursuing a part-time PhD exploring sport psychology dynamics under Drs. Jamie Barker, Carolyn Plateau, and Martin Turner. Ailish also serves as a National Trainer for UK Anti-Doping and provides consultancy to athletes and teams.
She is advancing toward Associate Fellow status with the Higher Education Academy through her teaching commitments, emphasizing undergraduate education in psychology and sport science.
