Dr. Sarah Teetzel is a Professor and Dean of Studies at St. John's College, University of Manitoba. She holds affiliations with the Centre for Human Rights Research, Centre for Professional and Applied Ethics, and serves on editorial boards for journals like International Journal of the History of Sport. Her expertise spans Olympic governance, gender equity in sport, and anti-doping policies. She has been funded by SSHRC, IOC, and WADA, among others.
Dr. Teetzel earned her PhD from Western University’s International Centre for Olympic Studies, winning the Pierre de Coubertin Prize. Her research explores Olympic eligibility, transgender athlete inclusion, and sport ethics. Notable publications include The Olympic Winter Games at 100 (2024), analyzing century-long challenges in winter sports.
Her career highlights include over 20 years of Olympic studies, leadership roles in academic societies (NASSS, NASSH), and contributions to international policy dialogues. She advocates for equitable sport governance through interdisciplinary collaboration.
