Lauri Peterson

Lauri Peterson is a Senior Researcher and Postdoctoral Researcher at the University of Eastern Finland (UEF) Law School, affiliated with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Business Studies. He holds a PhD from Uppsala University. His research focuses on climate politics, multi-level governance of climate change, and the application of both qualitative and quantitative methods. Peterson has contributed to high-impact journals such as Global Environmental Politics, World Development, and International Environmental Agreements: Politics, Law and Economics. He is a core member of the CCEEL (Center for Climate Change, Energy and Environmental Law) research group, exploring topics like Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) implementation risks and fossil fuel policy dynamics. His work bridges legal, political, and environmental dimensions of climate governance.
