Lauren Hunt

Lauren Hunt is a Lecturer in Counselling and Course Lead for the Postgraduate Diploma in Humanistic Counselling at York St John University. She is a Registered Member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and practices privately at the Oakdale Centre in Harrogate, while also providing short-term counselling for the Police Treatment Centres' wellbeing program.

• Education: MA in Counselling (York St John University), Postgraduate Diploma in Counselling, BA (Hons) in Psychology (Saint Mary's University), and certifications in online counselling and ESL teaching.
• Research Focus: Explored counsellors' experiences of love in humanistic therapy, emphasizing 'actualizing love' through Rogers' core conditions.

She teaches on the BA Counselling and Mental Health and PGDip Humanistic Counselling programs, with prior experience teaching English in South Korea and Japan. Lauren co-founded Lauren's Ladies, a peer support group for female students experiencing suicidal thoughts, established in memory of a close friend.
