Dr Trish Hobman serves as the Associate Head of the Children, Young People, Education and Counselling division at York St John University. She holds a PhD and is a BACP-accredited counsellor with extensive experience in clinical and academic roles. As Course Lead for the PG Diploma in Counselling (BACP-accredited) and the Person-Centred Experiential CPD programme, she specializes in humanistic-integrative approaches, emphasizing embodied and relational therapeutic practices. She also contributes to the PRaCTICED trial, a randomized controlled trial comparing PCE therapy with CBT.
Her qualifications include a PhD, a Fellow Higher Education Academy status, and advanced training in counselling and supervision. She has worked in university and voluntary sector counselling services, alongside managing mental health charity operations.
