Laura Zaylea is an Associate Professor of Instruction in the Department of Media Studies and Production at Temple University's Lew Klein College of Media and Communication. She holds an MFA in Film from San Francisco Art Institute and a BA in Art-Semiotics from Brown University. Her academic work bridges media production, emergent technologies, and interactive storytelling.
Research Focus: Zaylea explores experimental narrative forms through new media technologies. Her creative practice examines how audiences engage with stories through interactive video, 360° production, web-based multimedia, and locative installations. Current work includes an interactive documentary about LGBTQ families funded by Temple's Presidential Humanities and Arts Research Program.
