Laura Crehuet Berman is a Professor of Printmaking at the Kansas City Art Institute (KCAI), where she has taught since 2002. Her expertise spans printmaking, book arts, and color studies, with a global presence in exhibitions and publications. She is affiliated with prominent galleries such as Cade Tompkins Projects (Providence) and Long View Gallery (Washington, D.C.).
Berman holds a B.F.A. from Alfred University and an M.F.A. from Tulane University. In 2024, she will serve as a Fulbright Scholar at the University of Canberra in Australia.
Her research interests focus on innovative printmaking techniques and the intersection of art and color theory. Her work appears in notable publications such as The Book of Probes (David Carson/Marshall McLuhan), Printmaking at the Edge (Richard Noyce), and Color Theory: A Critical Introduction (Aaron Fine). She regularly publishes new prints through collaborations with institutions like Pele Prints (St. Louis).
Berman’s career highlights include exhibitions in major cities worldwide and contributions to edited volumes like An Artist and a Mother. Her artistic practice emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches to contemporary printmaking.
