Katelyn Wood

Katelyn Wood is an Instructor of Art at James Madison University (JMU), affiliated with the School of Art, Design and Art History. She teaches in the Foundations and Printmaking Departments and has been at JMU since 2019. Her academic background includes an M.F.A. in Studio Art from American University and a B.F.A. in Studio Art from JMU. Prior to JMU, she served as an Adjunct Professor at Marymount University and instructed at institutions like the Arlington Arts Center and Muse Paintbar.

Her areas of expertise include Drawing, Printmaking, 3D Design, 2D Design, and Color Theory. As an interdisciplinary artist, she combines photography, observational drawing, and printmaking to create layered, detail-oriented works that explore spatial environments and color interactions. Recent exhibitions include shows at Mashita in Harrisonburg, VA, and an upcoming solo exhibition at the Smith House Galleries.
