معرفی
Lanlan Shen, M.D., Ph.D., is a Professor in the Department of Pediatrics-Nutrition at Baylor College of Medicine, with a secondary appointment as a Member of the Dan L Duncan Comprehensive Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. Her research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in health and disease, particularly DNA methylation's role in cancer and development.
Education:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology from Shanghai Second Medical College (1997-1999)
- M.D. from Zhenjiang Medical School (1992-1997)
- Advanced Training at Johns Hopkins Hospital (1999-2002) and MD Anderson Cancer Center (2003-2005)
Research Interests: Dr. Shen investigates how epigenetic processes, such as DNA methylation, regulate intestinal stem cells and tumor suppression. Her work explores synergistic effects of genetic mutations and epigenetic changes in cancer, as well as the microbiome's influence on postnatal epigenetic programming. Techniques include genomics, organoids, and gnotobiotic mouse models.
Grants & Collaborations: Her lab collaborates with researchers like Creighton CJ and focuses on developing epigenetically targeted therapies for colorectal cancer and intestinal diseases. Ongoing projects include mechanistic studies on p16 epimutation and probiotic therapies for epigenetic protection.
Labs & Teams: Her laboratory integrates molecular biology, genomics, and clinical research to address translational challenges in epigenetics and cancer biology.
