معرفی
Le Shen is a Research Professor in the Department of Surgery-General Surgery at the University of Chicago. His research focuses on intestinal pathophysiology and cerebral cavernous malformation (CCM) disease mechanisms. He holds a M.B. (equivalent to M.D.) from Peking University Health Science Center and a Ph.D. in Pathology from the University of Chicago, followed by a postdoctoral fellowship in Intestinal Pathophysiology.
His research spans molecular mechanisms of intestinal barrier dysfunction, CCM disease progression, and therapeutic interventions. Key projects include investigating PDCD10's role in head and neck cancer and occludin's contribution to intestinal homeostasis. He has secured grants such as NIH R21DE032833 (Co-PI) and NIH K01DK092381 (PI).
His work bridges basic science and clinical applications, with a focus on CCM's neurovascular aspects and inflammatory pathways. Collaborations include studies on spatial transcriptomics, miRNA biomarkers, and computational modeling of claudin proteins.
Le Shen's lab is part of multidisciplinary teams addressing translational challenges in gastrointestinal and neurological diseases, emphasizing molecular and cellular mechanisms underlying disease progression and therapy development.
