Jayashri Ghosh, MD is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Cancer and Cellular Biology at Temple University's Lewis Katz School of Medicine, affiliated with the Fels Cancer Institute for Personalized Medicine. Her research focuses on epigenetic mechanisms in colorectal cancer disparities and assisted reproductive technology (ART)-induced DNA methylation changes. She holds a PhD in Genetics from Sanjay Gandhi Post Graduate Institute of Medical Sciences, India.
Her work bridges clinical and molecular studies, investigating how ART procedures like embryo cryopreservation affect placental epigenetics and birth outcomes. She also explores sex-specific epigenetic differences in cardiovascular repair mechanisms and DNA methylation patterns in normal tissues predictive of cancer susceptibility. Key projects include studying racial disparities in colorectal cancer incidence and epigenetic drivers of preterm birth through ADAMTS gene analysis.
Publications span over two decades, with recent emphasis on DNA methylation's role in leukemia, microbiome-cancer interactions, and ART-related epigenetic perturbations. Her research integrates genomic, epigenomic, and clinical data to address translational challenges in cancer biology and reproductive health.
