Su Yon Jung

Dr. Su Yon Jung is an Associate Professor at the UCLA School of Nursing and an Adjunct Associate Professor in the Department of Epidemiology at the UCLA Fielding School of Public Health. She is a member of the UCLA Jonsson Comprehensive Cancer Center and the Genetics & Genomics Graduate Program in Bioscience. Her research focuses on molecular biomarkers related to cancer, particularly examining interactions between genetic/epigenetic factors, lifestyle behaviors, and metabolic pathways to develop targeted cancer prevention strategies.

Educational background includes a PhD in Epidemiology from the University of Pittsburgh (2010), a postdoctoral fellowship at the University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center (2014), and prior degrees in Nursing and Public Health from The Catholic University of Korea. She holds nursing licenses in California, New York, and South Korea.

Research interests span cancer genomics/epigenomics, cancer health disparities, machine learning for big data analysis, and study design methodologies. Her work bridges molecular biology with population health, emphasizing interventions for underrepresented groups.
