Kyle Horch is a Professor of Saxophone at the Royal College of Music (RCM) since 1991, specializing in classical and contemporary saxophone performance. He holds a BMus and MMus from Northwestern University and Guildhall School of Music and Drama. His affiliations include freelance work with orchestras like the Royal Philharmonic and London Symphony Orchestra, and leadership in ensembles such as Flotilla and Counterpoise.
Education: BMus from Northwestern University (Chicago), MMus and Honorary Fellowship from the Royal College of Music (London).
Research interests focus on saxophone technique, pedagogy, and chamber music collaborations. His recent recordings include Inflorescence (2024) exploring global contemporary works and Hooray for Hollywood (2024) celebrating classic film scores. Both albums highlight innovative arrangements and cross-genre experimentation.
Teaching includes masterclasses across Europe and the US, NYO tutoring, and the Summer Saxophone Course in Wales. He authored sections on saxophone pedagogy for The Cambridge Companion to the Saxophone.
