Anthony Bailey is a clarinet teacher and conductor at the Royal College of Music (RCM) Junior Department. He holds a BMus (First Class Honours) and MMus from the RCM, graduating in 1999 and 2001, respectively. His roles include teaching clarinet and saxophone at the RCM Junior Department, Watford Boys and Girls Grammar Schools, and privately in London, alongside conducting the Symphonic Wind Orchestra.

Research & Composition: Bailey is a prolific composer, creating works spanning orchestral pieces, operas, chamber music, and solo compositions. His opera The Black Monk (2003), based on Chekhov’s short story, was acclaimed at the Bloomsbury Theatre. He also composes for ensembles like the British Clarinet Ensemble and Chinook Clarinet Quartet, frequently performing his own works.

Ensembles & Leadership: Leads the British Clarinet Ensemble and performs with the Chinook Clarinet Quartet, both of which frequently premier his compositions.
