Dr. Jonathan Pitkin is a Professor of Electro-Acoustic Composition and Academic Programmes at the Royal College of Music (RCM), where he teaches composition, musicianship, and academic studies across Junior Department, undergraduate, and postgraduate levels. Born in Edinburgh, he studied music at Christ Church, Oxford, and later composition at the Royal Academy of Music. His doctoral research from the RCM underscores his deep academic engagement. Pitkin’s work spans orchestral, choral, and electro-acoustic music, with performances by ensembles like the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra and broadcasts on BBC Radio 3.
