Natalia Luis-Bassa is an Undergraduate Professor of Conducting at the Royal College of Music (RCM). She earned her BMus, PGDip, and MMus degrees, being the first to obtain a degree in orchestral conducting from Venezuela’s El Sistema program at the University Institute of Musical Studies (IUDEM). She further studied at the Royal College of Music in London, where she held the RCM Junior Fellowship in Opera Conducting, and completed her master’s at the University of Huddersfield. Luis-Bassa actively collaborates with the National Children’s Orchestra, serves as Principal Conductor of the Wellington College Symphony Orchestra, and works with violinist Nicola Benedetti on The Benedetti Foundation’s national education projects.
