Dr Kris De Meyer is a Research Fellow in the Department of Neuroimaging and a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Geography at King’s College London. His research focuses on societal polarization, climate change communication, and translating neuroscience insights into actionable science-policy practices. He is a core member of the CRUISSE network (EPSRC-funded) and the UCL Policy Commission on Communicating Climate Science. He produced the award-winning documentary *Right Between Your Ears* and co-created educational initiatives like *Climate Explorers* and *The Justice Syndicate*. Kris teaches the postgraduate course 7SSG5208 (Climate Change and Culture) and supervises PhD students researching public opinion on climate change and science-policy co-production.
Education: PhD in Foundations of Stochastic Diffusion Search from the University of Reading (2004).
Research Interests: Neuroscience of belief entrenchment, climate science communication, participatory engagement strategies, and interdisciplinary policy co-design. His work bridges neuroscience, environmental science, and social policy to address societal challenges like climate change denial and polarized discourse.
Grants & Projects: Part of the DEFRA-funded 'Citizen Engagement on the Environment' project (2019-2020). Collaborates with institutions like King’s Climate Research Hub and the Environmental Security research group.
Labs & Teams: Active in King’s Climate Research Hub, exploring climate change through science-policy-culture links, and the Environmental Security research group, analyzing environmental threats to societal stability.
