Frans Berkhout is a Professor of Environment, Society and Climate at King’s College London, serving as Assistant Principal (King’s Climate & Sustainability). He joined King’s in 2013 and previously led the Faculty of Social Science & Public Policy (2015–2021). His academic roles include Director of the Institute for Environmental Studies (IVM) at VU University Amsterdam (2004–2012) and Director of the Future Earth programme at ICSU in Paris. He holds a BSc in Geography (Leeds, 1983) and a PhD in Science and Technology Policy Studies (Sussex, 1989).
