Prof. Dr. Knut Schwippert is a full professor of Educational Science at the University of Hamburg, specializing in Empirical Educational Research with a focus on International Educational Monitoring and Reporting. He holds a position in the Department of General, Intercultural and International Comparative Education and Educational Psychology within the Faculty of Education. His research emphasizes effective schools, evaluation methodologies, large-scale educational studies, and system monitoring. He leads and contributes to major projects like TIMSS 2023, which assesses mathematics and science competencies in primary education globally.
Prof. Schwippert's work spans teaching with digital media, migration background impacts on education, and language in geography education. He has advised numerous PhD students, including ongoing supervisees such as Donieta Jusufi and Luise Scholz. His research is funded by institutions like the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF) and the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG).
Key projects include VAMPS (exploring task variation in STEM education) and contributions to understanding resilience in youth through musical education (WilmA project).
