Luise Scholz is a Researcher at the University of Hamburg's Faculty of Education, affiliated with the Department of General, Intercultural and International Comparative Education and Educational Psychology (EW 1). She holds a Master's and is currently completing a PhD in Education with a focus on empirical research and educational psychology. Her work centers on large-scale studies like TIMSS, examining teaching quality, non-cognitive student traits, and academic performance determinants. She has been involved in national leadership roles for TIMSS projects since 2019. Scholz teaches quantitative research methods in education and contributes to international comparative research through memberships in the DGfE and AEPF. Her research emphasizes evidence-based policy recommendations and teacher training strategies derived from TIMSS data.
Her education includes a B.A. in Education with a focus on social pedagogy and biology, followed by an M.A. in educational theory and empirical research. She has authored/co-authored over a dozen publications on topics such as exam anxiety, gender differences in STEM competencies, and teaching quality in elementary education. Recent work analyzes TIMSS 2019/2023 data to identify factors influencing student performance and anxiety levels, emphasizing constructive teacher support as a key intervention point.
