Prof. Klara Boonstra is a Full Professor at the Faculty of Law and Kooijmans Institute, Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam, specializing in Social Law. Her roles include editorial board membership at Tijdschrift Recht en Arbeid and board positions at organizations like FairWork and SGO. She teaches courses on International Labour Law, Corporate Social Responsibility, and Labour Law Clinics.
Her research focuses on precarious work, migrant labor rights, workplace safety as a human right, and collective bargaining. Key projects include studies on sex workers' labor relations, social rights in global supply chains, and the application of the ILO conventions. Her recent publications address EU detachment regulations for third-country workers and legal frameworks for migrant worker recruitment.
