Kimberly Lazo Green is a Researcher and Research Associate at the University of Manchester, affiliated with the School of Health Sciences and the Department of Nursing & Midwifery. She is an Associate Editor for the Journal of Aging and Physical Activity (JAPA) and a member of the Healthy Ageing Research Group (HARG). Her roles include contributing to the NIHR Older People and Frailty Policy Research Unit and the NIHR Healthy Ageing Policy Research Unit, focusing on evidence synthesis and rapid reviews in healthy ageing and healthcare delivery.
Kimberly holds a Doctor of Philosophy from Manchester Metropolitan University (2020), where her thesis explored informal institutions and collective action in Greater Manchester’s health devolution. Previously, she worked as a Research Associate for the Implementation Team at the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration North West Coast (ARC NWC) and taught Economics as an Associate Lecturer at the University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) and MMU.
Her research interests emphasize policy analysis, cost-benefit considerations, long-term care systems, behavioral interventions for aging populations, and the economics of healthcare. She actively contributes to the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) related to health and well-being (SDG 3) and sustainable cities (SDG 11).
Her recent articles highlight trends in systematic reviews and meta-analyses addressing healthcare policy, aging interventions (e.g., dance for falls prevention), and the health impacts of environmental factors like cold homes. These publications underscore a focus on translating evidence into actionable policy and improving service delivery for older adults.
Kimberly is currently accepting PhD students and has engaged in collaborative research across multiple institutions. Her work spans grant-funded projects on healthcare policy, service delivery, and behavioral science, reflecting a commitment to interdisciplinary and applied research.
She collaborates with teams such as the Healthy Ageing Research Group (HARG) and the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) units, contributing to both academic and policy-oriented initiatives.
