Nuijen transitioned from a commercial photography practice—collaborating with agencies like TBWA/Neboko and clients such as Albert Heijn—to an artistic focus, later shifting to manage artistic projects. Her collaboration with artist Dirk Hardy on the project Vivarium has garnered international exhibitions and inclusion in collections like Museum LAM and AkzoNobel Art Collection.
Her research interests revolve around the intersection of photography, installation art, and the viewer's perception of reality. Since 2013, she has been actively contributing to academic education at KABK.
