Stultiens’ research investigates how photographs shape and activate historical narratives, exemplified by her co-founding of History In Progress Uganda (2011) with Canon Griffin. Her collaborative methodology involves artists, academics, and local stakeholders to produce publications, exhibitions, and critical discourses. At KABK, she contributes to the Master Photography & Society program, emphasizing photography as a social practice engaging human and non-human actors.
Her teaching spans institutional and non-institutional contexts in the Netherlands and Uganda, prioritizing peer learning and collective knowledge production. Stultiens’ work intersects with KABK’s research initiatives, including the 2019 Research Group, and aligns with the academy’s focus on technology, ecology, and societal roles in photography.
