Kevin R. Crawford

Kevin R. Crawford, Ph.D., is a Principal Lecturer in Journalism & Communication Studies at Regent University’s School of Communication & the Arts. He previously served as a visiting lecturer at Old Dominion University and a graduate professor at Regent. As President and CEO of Peloton Entertainment, he combines academic expertise with professional screenwriting and film production. Crawford holds a B.A. in Philosophy (Asbury University, 1981), M.Div. in Theology (Asbury Theological Seminary, 1986), M.F.A. in Creative Writing (Regent University, 2007), and a Ph.D. in Communication (Regent University, 2012).

His research focuses on storytelling, film analysis (including rhetoric of film, faith and film, and media history), and media activism. He emphasizes the role of media in shaping culture and spirituality. His published works include scholarly articles and screenplays, with current projects involving a novel and a Christopher Nolan-focused dissertation adaptation.

Crawford is affiliated with organizations like the Society for Cinema and Media Studies, Producers Guild of America, and Writers Guild of America. His awards include the Glen G. Henson Memorial Scholar (2010) and Morse Family Communication Arts Scholar (2010). He also holds dual U.S.-Canadian citizenship and is an avid cyclist and family man.
