Giovanni Galavotti is a Professor at Ababo's School of Film and Audiovisual Languages, teaching Creative Writing and Image Narration II (Code: ABST45). An acclaimed screenwriter, his work includes award-winning films such as The Man Who Will Come (Best Film at the 2010 David di Donatello Awards) and L'agnello (2020 Suso Cecchi D'Amico Award winner). His course provides students with theoretical and practical tools for visual storytelling and screenwriting development.
Galavotti's research centers on narrative craft for film and television, examining how words transform into images through structured storytelling. He emphasizes character development, dialogue, and narrative architecture, drawing from foundational texts like Vogler's The Hero's Journey and McKee's Story. His methodology combines theoretical analysis with hands-on screenplay development, guiding students through story conception, treatment drafting, and final screenplay production.
His screenwriting achievements have garnered international recognition:
