Sara Caldwell is a Lecturer in the Department of Film and Media Studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB). She also teaches Digital Media at College of the Canyons (COC) and the Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising (FIDM) in Los Angeles. Her professional roles include freelance writer/producer and creator of short films. Caldwell holds an MFA in Screenwriting from California State University, Northridge (CSU Northridge).
Her research and creative work focus on screenwriting, horror genre filmmaking, and digital media pedagogy. Notable achievements include multiple screenplay awards, such as BEST ORIGINAL SCREENPLAY at prestigious festivals, and acclaim for her short films. She is the author of the young adult novel *Raven Dock* and industry guide *Splatter Flicks: How to Make Low-Budget Horror Films*.
