Neal Dhand is an Assistant Professor at Temple University's School of Theater, Film and Media Arts, specializing in genre filmmaking and screenwriting education. He teaches screenwriting, directing, producing, and film analysis across institutions in the US and Czech Republic.
Education: BA from University of Chicago, MFA from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Research focuses on creating socially conscious genre films with revisionist perspectives. Notable works include the sci-fi drama/thriller Dark My Light (2023 release), and short films showcased at Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival, Sidewalk Film Festival, and Cinequest. His screenplays have achieved recognition in competitions like the Nicholl Fellowship and Austin Screenplay Competition.
Current projects emphasize innovative storytelling within speculative genres while addressing contemporary social themes.
