Dr. Kerstin Maiwald is a Researcher in the Theology department at Friedensau Adventist University (FAU) since 2017, concurrently serving as Head of the FAU Complaints Commission. She holds a Dr. phil. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies from Georg-August-Universität Göttingen (2017) and an M.A. in Ancient Near Eastern Studies and History from Freie Universität Berlin (2000s). Her research focuses on situating Mesopotamian creation texts within their ritual and cultural contexts, as well as tracing cultural developments within Seventh-day Adventism. Maiwald has extensive editorial experience, managing Spes Christiana journal issues and collaborating on projects like the Sumerian Glossary. Her work bridges ANE studies, biblical theology, and Adventist historical theology.
