Dr. Kerri Akiwowo is a Senior Lecturer in Textiles at Loughborough University's School of Design and Creative Arts. She co-leads the CITHEI Centre for Doctoral Training, which investigates equality, diversity, and inclusion in higher education. Her research integrates textile design innovation with cultural studies, focusing on digital fabrication, sustainable practices, and diversity advocacy.

Research interests include laser dyeing for synthetic textiles, textile futures, and cultural diversity in creative industries. Her publications span 2014-2025, emphasizing digital textile technologies and educational innovation. Recognitions include Clothworkers’ Company endorsement and completion of WHEN's leadership program for Black academics.
