Bibi Samshad Duman is a Doctoral Researcher at Loughborough University’s School of Design and Creative Arts, specializing in Textiles. Her research focuses on sustainable design practices, zero-waste fashion, and material innovation using industrial textile waste. She holds a Master’s in Design Innovation and Collaborative Creativity from the Glasgow School of Art/University of Glasgow and has contributed to the Anti-Amnesia project at the University of Aveiro. With over 12 years of experience as a Design and Textiles Educator, she has taught courses such as Hypermedia and Interactive Photography, and mentors students in Textile Final Reports and Speculative Futures modules.
Her professional background includes a two-year internship with Richfield Tang Knitwear’s Industrial Fashion Design division. Bibi has received numerous awards, including the Vice-Chancellor Art Collection Award (2023) and multiple recognitions at Loughborough University’s exhibitions (2024). Her work emphasizes interdisciplinary collaboration and creative reuse of materials, bridging academic research with industry applications.
