Kenneth Radnofsky serves as Professor of Saxophone and Chamber Music at New England Conservatory and Lecturer at Boston University, where he directs the Summer Tanglewood Institute. He has performed globally as a soloist with leading orchestras including the Leipzig Gewandhaus Orchestra, New York Philharmonic under Kurt Masur, Jerusalem Symphony, and Dresden Staatskapelle.
He earned a Bachelor of Music from the University of Houston and Master of Music from New England Conservatory, studying saxophone and clarinet with Joseph Allard, Jeffrey Lerner, David Salge, Steven Hoyle, Terry Anderson, and Duncan Hale.
Radnofsky's artistic focus centers on advancing saxophone repertoire through over 100 commissions from composers including Gunther Schuller, David Amram, John Harbison, and Rufus Reid. He founded World-Wide Concurrent Premieres, Inc. (WWCP) to coordinate global new music initiatives and champions works by emigres and refugees, exemplified by his 2023 'Looking for Higher Ground' tour across 10 North American cities.
His leadership includes founding the Gunther Schuller Society and RC Editions publishing house, plus serving as former President of the Boston Woodwind Society to nurture emerging woodwind talent. Radnofsky maintains an active international performance and teaching schedule across the Americas, Europe, and Asia while releasing critically acclaimed recordings on labels including Affetto, BMOP/sound, and NewportClassic.
