Kenneth Awinda

Dr. Kenneth Awinda is a Senior Lecturer and Associate Head (Partnerships) in the School of Civil Engineering & Surveying at the University of Portsmouth. He is also a Chartered Civil Engineer with over 10 years of industry experience in roles such as engineer and project manager for firms like Capita Symonds, Balfour Beatty, and John Laing Ltd. His research focuses on construction materials, particularly fiber-reinforced concrete, and construction engineering and management. He leads the BEng (Hons) in Construction Engineering Management program and is affiliated with the Portsmouth Centre for Advanced Materials and Manufacturing.

His research interests include modeling high-performance fiber-reinforced concrete, sustainable construction materials, and infrastructure projects. Notable works span life cycle assessments, structural analysis of concrete beams, and risk management in construction. His contributions bridge academic research with practical applications in civil engineering and materials science.
