Ken Lodewyk is a Professor in the Department of Kinesiology at Brock University, specializing in physical literacy, movement pedagogy, and motivational outcomes in physical education. He holds a PhD in Educational Psychology from Simon Fraser University and has extensive experience as a high school teacher, coach, and athletic director. His research focuses on instructional practices, personality traits, and psychosocial factors influencing student motivation and achievement in physical education and sports.
Key research interests include physical literacy assessment, epistemic beliefs of educators, gender-specific outcomes in PE, and the effectiveness of teaching frameworks like Teaching Games for Understanding (TGfU). He has published widely in journals such as Journal of Teaching in Physical Education and Physical Education and Sport Pedagogy.
